Way Better Snacks has done it again, but this time they have reinvented the classic Pita Chip, affectionately re-named the Pita-ahh Chip. (We reviewed their snacks once before: Way Better Snack Review.)

Way Better Snacks expanded their line this year to include a “first-of-a-kind” line of Simply Sprouted Pita-ahh Chips. Although these items are not gluten-free (like the tortilla chips), they contain a form of gluten that most people can better digest. Note: someone with celiac or a gluten allergy should still not consume these products.

Way Better sprouts their unique ingredients because sprouting has been known to enhance the absorption of nutrients and aid in digestion. By sprouting, you naturally eliminate the outer protective layer of grains, seeds and beans that make them hard for your body to digest.

For a short time, these are a Whole Foods exclusive, but beginning in April, they will be available to all. In classic Way Better Snacks style, they are also verified GMO-free by the Non-GMO Project. I honestly want to send virtual high fives to any company verifying their products GMO-free! Way to go!

As mentioned, Way Better Snacks use heritage grains Red Fife Wheat and Spelt in these chips. These combine with other unprocessed ingredients to create incredibly flavorful pita chips. They are available in three varities: Pinch of Sea Salt, Smoked Havarti, and Toasted Garlic.

(Please note: some of these chips do contain dairy.)

Pinch of Sea Salt

Sea Salt

This is the perfect dip chip! It’s simple, yet flavorful. It almost reminds me of (dare I say) a Wheat Thin. Justin said it’s an excellent “sandwich” chip.

These dairy-free chips contain: Organic Sprouted Red Fife Wheat, Whole Spelt, Sunflower Oil, Tapioca Starch, Yeast, Pure Cane Sugar, Sea Salt.

Smoked Havarti

havarti

If you like havarti cheese, you will love these! The flavor comes through in great ways as it has a great cheese balance. These were Justin’s favorite, hands down.

These chips contain: Organic Sprouted Red Fife Wheat, Whole Spelt, Sunflower Oil, Tapioca Starch, Yeast, Pure Cane Sugar, Smoked Havarti Seasoning (Organic Cheddar Cheese, Cultured Pasteurized Milk, Salt, Enzymes, Organic Non-Fat Milk, Organic Whey, Salt, Disodium Phosphate, Garlic, Hickory Smoke Powder, Sea Salt).

Toasted Garlic

Garlic is the name of the game here! I LOVE garlic, so these were a favorite of mine. These also would be great with a yummy dip for a party appetizer.

These chips contain: Organic Sprouted Red Fife Wheat, Whole Spelt, Sunflower Oil, Tapioca Starch, Yeast, Pure Cane Sugar, Garlic Seasoning (Maltodextrin, Garlic, Organic Natural Butter Flavor, Sea Salt).

Garlic is where it’s at for me too! So I definitely am excited to try the garlic flavor the most out of the three.

  2. Katie K says

The Sea Salt variety sounds perfect for our dairy-free house! My little loves anything crunchy, and finding dairy-free crackers that aren’t full of other not-so-great ingredients can be tricky. These sound like they would definitely fit the bill for her!

  3. Erin Ellis says

Yum! Yum! I would love to try the Havarti! Thank you for the wonderful giveaway.

Oh my! Toasted Garlic is right up my ally – but since I am preggo I guarantee you I will smash together the Garlic with the Havarti and some hummus and call it lunch ;)

    Yum!

    The garlic sounds really good!

I love the new look of your site, too! It reminds me that spring is coming soon!

Thanks for the giveaway! If I don’t win, I’ll be sure to look for them at our Natural Grocers.

  6. Marissa says

I’d like to try the garlic and salt ones (no dairy for me). Also, your blog got a major face lift, right?! I love it and am looking forward to learning about essential oils! :)

  7. Nancy A. says

I would choose the Toasted Garlic first, but they all sound good to me. And, healthier than what my family eats now!!
