My Mommy Mind

  • Finn was gone at Vacation Bible School for three hours all five days last week. The house felt so empty! Even Evie missed him. She would look over in her car seat where he should be sitting with this look like, “where’s my sing/song/giggle buddy?”
  • Do you feel as a mother like you are just ruining your kids little, developing brain? Evie and I were doing puzzles last week. I had no idea the difference between a sheep and a lamb, or if the sound was baaaaa or maaaaa.  If my children don’t know their animals, it’s because of me. If they know them, it’s because of Sesame Street.
  • I might live in the state, but I don’t think Iowa drivers were taught a really basic driving rule as teens. The left lane is the fast lane and the right lane is the slow lane. I can’t tell you how many Iowa drivers I saw on the interstate last weekend just bumble-footsing around in the left lane. MOVE!
  • Have we connected on facebook yet? Just a reminder that we do bonus giveaways from time to time on facebook that we don’t post elsewhere. Consider yourself warned. :)

I’m having a case of the Monday’s. Over the weekend I could not get the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song (extended version linked) out of my head! Indulge my inner 90s sitcom love… what 80s or 90s sitcom was your all-time fav?

It’s a toss up…there are so many favorite sitcoms….Growing Pains, Designing Women, and Who’s the Boss!!!!

  2. Megan says

All time favorite sitcom – Golden Girls! I think it still holds up to this day!
So many others I liked that I think now, “Whoa, what was I thinking?” :)

We had a book where the sheep said “Baa” and the goat said “Maa”. Plus the song is “Baa Baa Black Sheep”, so “Baa” it is! In real life, not all pigs are pink and they don’t actually sound like “oink” though so I think Finn/Evie will manage. As for driving, it seems to me everyone has forgotten the rules at a four-way stop, too. You shouldn’t need to wave people through. There are rules, people!

I think you call it a sheep when you’re petting it and a lamb when you’re eating it. :/ On the driving thing… you’re originally from MA, right? I live in MA and I happen to think we’re pretty much the only people in the world who know how to drive. :)

I’m not used to MA drivers, though!! I get on the road with my uncles and think FOR SURE I’m going to die! There is a level of aggression there I’m not used to. But if you ask them, they’d all agree…. you are pretty much the only people in the world who know how to drive!!!
