Fantastic Fridays + FITNESS GIVEAWAY

What a week! Finn ran away to preschool with my heart. All moms know this feeling of unconditional protective mama bear love for our kids, and when they start to fly, gosh… that’s something even more fierce! He’ll do great this year, but Evie and I are going to miss him!

Ahhhh… well, to take your mind away from all the kiddos leaving home recently, barre3 has a great giveaway for one lucky reader! The premise of barre3 is simple: where ballet barre meets yoga and pilates. I love the concept of this workout. Barre3 evolves the dancer’s workout by combining the grace of the ballet barre with the wisdom of yoga and the strength of Pilates. Barre3 workouts are set to an upbeat soundtrack and follow a vigorous pace moving through a sequence of postures designed to shape and lift the entire body.

Fantastic. Yes, that is all. Seems fitting, right?

Fantastic Yum: We needed something a little sweet and a little salty earlier this week. You’ll love this simple change in prep that will bring a new dimension to your homemade p-corn. The kids and I dove into this healthy bowl for an afternoon snack and Justin and I may or may not have made seconds later that night to watch one of our shows! :) So simple. So friggin’ delicious!

Fantastic Repurpose: The ideas in this link are incredible. Seed starters, popsicle molds, holiday ornaments. Brilliant. Both my mom and mom-in-law use K-Cups. We’re in luck!

Fantastic Yogi Feet: Oh my dear goodness, I want to scream with cuteness! If you’re a regular yogi, you must, must, must get these and send me a picture. I have envy! Do you think people would laugh if I showed up to kickboxing with these bad boys?? :)
Fantastic Birthday Surprise: I’m thinking of doing this for Finn next week as we ring in year FOUR! He’d go crazy!

Fantastic Mystery: No less than five people have told me about cotton candy grapes in the last week. Whaaaaa? The first time I heard about them I was convinced they had to be some GMO/science experiment, but the company claims they are a cross-breed grape and non-GMO. Have you had them?

Fantastic Look: I love, love, love the Peter Pan neckline. I love it so much, I bought the dress on the left for Evie and am strongly considering the dress on the right for me so we can be mom-dot twinsies. Did you ever dress like your mom? I always loved that!

Peter Pan

Fantastic Thought: Isn’t this interesting. Would you consider a temporary tattoo for your child’s allergies?

Fantastic Laugh: If you’re on instagram, you simply must follow BabyWigs. Everytime I need a pick-me-up, this does it!

Fantastic Reminder: Just go and do it already!

Fantastic Jam: In light of all the kids going back to school, I started thinking about this song. I kept thinking this week, “Finn, just stop growing up.” We want to keep our kids safe and happy as long as possible, even though it’s just not possible. Up into the air you go!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Have you tried those cotton candy grapes? We all got a sample at the new Hy-Vee and were SURE it was a GMO. Interesting to see that it’s not! Regardless, we couldn’t get past the taste…it really does taste like cotton candy, which kind of freaked us out :) Maybe it works to get kids eating fruit though!

I like zumba! I also love kickboxing. Use to do pilates all the time before I had kids. For some reason that really hurts my tailbone now! Guess something shifted? lol. Always interested in trying a new workout!

I have tried many workouts and this one reminds me of when I used to take ballet as a little girl. I only did one performance and got so sick from stage fright I decided I’d stop the ballet. >.< I really miss it (the ballet, not the stage fright!)

A friend of mine does zumba and that looks fascinating. That may be my next attempt.

I started ballet at 5 and never looked back. I still love ballet dancing around my kitchen and attend any and every dance performance I can (think Brucemorchestra, Cedar Rapids this weekend with a special performance by the Quad Cities Ballet–yea!). I am so happy this is blending in with my other favorite workout, yoga. The perfect match and workout.

I would LOVE to try Barre3! My sister in law was in ballet until she had kids, and I’m such a sucker for yoga. This would be such a fun sister-bonding-activity for the two of us. Ooooh, this would be so much fun!
