Fun Finn Photo Friday

Forget bowls, spoons, almond milk or the kitchen table.  Sometimes you just wanna sit on the floor and shovel it in for breakfast!

Our neighbor, Ryder, has become quite the pal to Finn… park trips, library storytime, swim lessons, house swaps.  Ryder is 6 months younger but that doesn’t seem to hold the duo back.  Ryder’s mom captured this priceless moment at her house recently.  Every time I look at their faces, I crack up.  As Justin says, “THIS is what you picture when you think of 2 little boys playing!”  Sheer loud, messy, crazy, wild fun!  I can’t wait to see what they do next!

Fun Finn Photo Friday: Happy (Belated) New Year

Struggling to get back in our routine at the Wise house!  But I promise, we’re back on track next week with new posts, including a holiday recap!  In the meantime…

From our (growing) family to yours, Happy New Year!

Fun Finn Photo Friday: Love

As much as I love my best friend, I love her youngest daughter, Alea.  Girlfriend is SWEET!  I was able to see Alea a few days before Finn saw her last week and let him in on the good word. “Finn, Alea is so adorable.  You are just going to loooove her!”  For the next 24 hours, Finn continued to say, “A-wee-a… a-dor-ble!”

Erin and I have known one another for eons, but we unfortunately no longer live close to one another. And by “not close,” we’re talking not even in the same country!  So, it’s a treat when we are both back home and able to connect.  And it’s a bigger treat when I get to spend time with her amazing kids – all FOUR amazing, talented, sweet kids!

Erin and I were due the same day with Finn and Alea.  Can you imagine the chances?!?!  They are simply destined to be together one day, right?  Clearly, Erin and I think so, but we’ll let the images of their most recent encounter let you draw your own conclusion.  (And just to clarify, Alea really is this cute, and she really does wear leg warmers over her jeans!  Is this acceptable for grown women?  Because if not, it should be.  It’s insanely adorable!)

Sharing (well, attempting to)…

Planking… with some magical hand-holding and goo-goo eyes!

A great picture for the wedding video…
(Taken minutes before a powerful embrace that had them falling to the ground, bumping heads and weeping loudly!)

At the mall play area, another little boy clearly had eyes for Alea. When they were tucked away in the “Husker helmet” and the other little boy squatted down to make his grand entrance, Finn put one arm across Alea and held the other arm straight out. “STOP,” he boldly shouted at the other little boy.  Competition, be gone.  He’s clearly smitten.

His and hers…

I need more best friend and family days like this in my life!  Until the next time, here’s to little kids who simply warm your heart!

Have a great weekend!

Cousins Club

We were able to capture a bonding moment between Finn and his cousin, Aubrey, over Thanksgiving.  The two were sitting on a cable box behind my parents house after turkey dinner.  All the other cousins had gone inside and the two had a real deep talk about life, love, and politics.  I’m pretty sure Finn was even calling Aubrey “Queen” when the conversation began!  See what revelations they discovered, between all the hugging and laughing

Finn and his cousin Aubrey had a HILARIOUS time over Thanksgiving!  Can’t you just hear this laugh?

Finn loves his cousins, I mean LOVES his cousins!  Aubrey is 4 and Mallory is almost 10 months.  Looking at their recent family pictures posted on Facebook, Finn became incredibly happy and insisted on giving a “tiss-TISS” to EACH picture TWICE.

What can I say?  Dude loves his girls!

Pucker up, baby!

In honor of one week sans beautiful curls, thought I’d through a shout out to the curls left in the dust….

Locks Be Gone

We did it. We took the plunge. We cut Finn’s beautiful, luscious locks. GASP!!

I’d spent one too many days battling Finn over a few snarls. I’d heard one too many people ask me my daughter’s name. Let’s be honest, I’d been delaying this day for at least 365 days, so I was somewhat at peace with cutting my sweet little guy’s baby hair. But holy cow, it’s still a tough thing for a mom! Geesh!

It took awhile to get the “cape” on Finn, but once we were able to spray toys with the water bottle, we were distracted long enough to become a full-fledged little boy. How handsome is he? Ahhh… I could just squeeze him!

So darn cute I could just SQUEEZE HIM!!
